Frequently Asked Questions

What is the BSC club?

The Bridges to STEM Careers (BSC) Club is a regional partnership of San Jacinto College and University of Houston - Clear Lake alongside industry and government partners, primarily funded by the National Science Foundation. By providing TechFridays, Programming Challenges, and resources to academic partners, the BSC Club works to create a pipeline for student success and meaningful education. Through support such as grants, fundraising, and care of the college, the Bridges to STEM Careers (BSC) Club works collaboratively with K-12 schools, institutes of higher education, industry partners, and government agencies to create meaningful opportunities throughout the local and scientific communities and help build a more confident workforce.

Who can join?

All students are welcome to join!

You do not need to be studying a STEM field in order to join.

How does joining the BSC club benefit me?

The BSC Club was created to provide support for UHCL students who are pursuing an education in one of the STEM fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

We offer free academic support for students in the form of Student Mentors, who are available weekly to answer questions and provide assistance. We also hold events each semester, including our Tech Friday workshops and our annual Robotics Programming Challenge. As a BSC Club Member, you will be the first to find out about exciting events coming up.
